October Healthy Lifestyle: “What’s Control Got to Do with It?”

McKenzie Health System is pleased to feature Charlene Biessel, Registered Dietician, and Jenny Long, PT, DPT, Director of Rehabilitation Services, presenting “Portion Control and Diet & Exercise” at the October Healthy Lifestyle Workshop scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. in the McKenzie Health System Back Dining Room. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required by calling Public Relations at 810-648-6117 or emailing

“It’s that time of year again: outside activity is being replaced by staying inside on the couch being warmed by a fire, and eating lots of fresh produce from our gardens is being replaced by heavy holiday eating,” warns Louise Blasius LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System. “We have to take steps now to prevent the need for those New Year’s diet resolutions on January 1, 2020!”

“Good ways to keep ourselves healthy all year long include limiting how much we eat and increasing how much exercise we get, even when it’s cold and snowy outside. We all need encouragement to do this,” adds Blasius. “Charlene Biessel and Jenny Long are popular Healthy Lifestyle speakers who always give great, practical tips on how to live healthily every day!”

“This Healthy Lifestyle session will be presented through an interactive format where audience members can feel free to ask a variety of real-life questions about healthy habits,” declares Blasius. “We hope people will join us as we focus on this vitally important topic!”
