MHS Foundation’s Event to Highlight Women’s Health Information

Through the generations, women have not always been eager to share intimate health details or to ask the difficult questions. To make it easy for women in the community to learn more about “What Your Mama Never Told You,” the McKenzie Health System Foundation Community Relations Committee will host a free event with local health experts at 6:00 p.m. on October 25 at Bench Warmers Sports Bar and Grill, 440 W. Sanilac Road in Sandusky.

The panel, which includes Nurse Practitioner Suzette Walker of McKenzie Health and Wellness Center in Sandusky, Nurse Practitioner Brandy Trepkowski of McKenzie Rural Health Clinic in Sandusky, and Nicole Beagle of Sanilac County Community Mental Health, will discuss common questions and issues around topics including hot flashes, postpartum depression, weight gain, birth control and more. The emcees, Lorie Freiburger and Erin Freiburger, will pull out anonymous questions throughout the event to pose to the panel.

“You will laugh, you will cry and you will learn a lot,” said Carol Martino, Chair of the Women’s Event subcommittee. “Not everyone has a parent or teacher who shares the nitty-gritty and important details when it comes to women’s health, so we wanted to create an event where every topic was fair game and our panel is ready and willing to answer all of your questions!”

The event includes free appetizers, prize drawings, and a cash bar. Registration is not required. For more information about the event, please contact the McKenzie Health System Foundation Office at 810-648-6127 or visit www.mckenziehealth.org.
