Pets Take Center Stage at September Healthy Lifestyle!

McKenzie Health System welcomes Robert Sollman, Bio Tech Instructor at the Sanilac Career Center, and Colleen Wallace, Sanilac County 4-H Coordinator, to present a child-friendly event, “Pets for Every Age and Place” at the September Healthy Lifestyle Workshop, scheduled for Monday, September 24, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. at the Sanilac Career Center, 175 E. Aitken Rd, Peck. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required by calling Public Relations at 810-648-6117 or emailing cmausolf@mckenziehealth.org.

“We want to make sure that people note the different location for this month’s Healthy Lifestyle Workshop,” reports Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System. “We’re having the Workshop at the Sanilac Career Center because pets will be on hand to charm workshop attendees. It promises to be a lively and interactive event for adults and children alike, so we encourage parents and grandparents to bring along friends and family members of all ages! In addition, there will be a door prize drawing for a fully equipped fish tank, and a $10 gift certificate to be used for fish once the tank is set-up!”

“We’ve all heard that pets can provide great benefits for our health, but what if you live in an apartment that doesn’t allow dogs or cats, or what if you’re older and you would like a pet, but the thought of taking care of a typical pet is daunting? Maybe you’re wondering what would be the best kind of pet for a family with small children,” states Blasius. “At the September Healthy Lifestyle Workshop, we hope to answer questions like these and more and give you some exposure to pets that you may not have ever thought of. It’s sure to be both fun and informative and one lucky person or family will go home with a fish tank and $10 gift certificate for fish!”
