McKenzie Health System Laboratory Services Department Earns Continued Accreditation from College of American Pathologists

McKenzie Health System is proud to announce that its Laboratory Services Department has once again earned accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), following a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP Accreditation Programs. Recognized for rigorous and robust standards, CAP accreditation elevates quality and mitigates risk, an important way that laboratories can contribute to improved patient outcomes.

This recognition reflects the laboratory’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards in quality, safety, and patient care. CAP accreditation is awarded to laboratories that meet rigorous criteria, helping ensure accurate, reliable results that support better patient outcomes.

The McKenzie laboratory is one of more than 8,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide, a distinction that highlights excellence in laboratory practices and continuous quality improvement.

During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors evaluate the laboratory’s records, quality control procedures, staff qualifications, equipment, safety practices, and overall operations. These comprehensive reviews help verify that laboratories are operating in alignment with the most current best practices.
