McKenzie Health System is excited to announce that the new hospital project has reached the point where construction is ready to begin. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 1, at 12:00 p.m. at the future hospital location. Guests are asked to park at the south end of the Burger King/Storage America parking lot and use the Gates Road entrance. Golf cart rides will be available for those who need assistance.

The community is warmly invited to this short but meaningful ceremonial event, which will include light refreshments, opportunities to learn more about the project, and the chance to view the latest architectural renderings of the new facility.

Parking for the event will be located at the former Kmart parking lot, directly west of the new property across Gates Road. Guests will be able to walk across Gates Road to the new property for the service; golf cart transportation will be available for those who prefer not to walk to the event site.

“This groundbreaking marks the start of an exciting new chapter for our community,” said Steve Barnett, President and CEO. “We are eager to take this important step forward together and celebrate what this new hospital will mean for healthcare in our region.”

Mike Dreyer, Chair of the McKenzie Health System Board of Trustees, added, “The Board has been honored to walk alongside this project from the beginning. This ceremony is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our staff, leadership, and community members who have made this vision a reality.”

The groundbreaking is not just about moving dirt; it’s about moving forward—together as a community—toward the promise of a new hospital and better healthcare for generations to come.
