McKenzie Health System invites the community to its next Healthy Living Together session, “Stroke Awareness: B.E. F.A.S.T.,” on Wednesday, October 15, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. The event will take place in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room, located at 120 Delaware Street, Sandusky, MI 48471, with lunch available for $5. A virtual attendance option via Zoom is also available for those who prefer to join remotely.
This timely and important session will be led by Rebecca Stoliker, BSN, RN, Director of Nursing Services at McKenzie Health System. Stoliker will discuss how to quickly recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke using the F.A.S.T. acronym—Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call 911—as well as what to do in the event of a stroke and how early action can save lives.
“With stroke, every second counts,” said Stoliker. “The more people who know the signs and how to respond, the more lives and long-term health outcomes we can help protect. This session is about empowering our community to be alert and act quickly.”
The event is free and open to the public. To register for either in-person or virtual attendance, please visit www.McKenzieHealth.org/Healthy-Living and follow the instructions on the event page for your preferred option, or call 810-648-6127.
