Steve and Lisa Disser have long been champions of community health, and their generous contribution to McKenzie Health System’s new hospital building project reflects their unwavering commitment. Their gift, which will name one of the Emergency Rooms in the new hospital, demonstrates their belief in the importance of accessible, quality care for all.
Speaking at the September Autumn Benefit, Steve shared heartfelt insights into their decision to support the hospital building project. He highlighted the incredible value of having a healthcare resource like McKenzie Health System within the community—not just for Sandusky, but for the entire county and beyond. “This hospital is more than just a building,” Steve said. “It’s about investing in people, families, new technologies, and resources for the future of Sanilac County and the surrounding areas. Having a hospital close to home makes a life-changing difference, and it’s something we want to ensure continues for generations.”
Steve emphasized how vital it is for every individual and business to view the hospital as a shared resource, one that requires collective investment and care. “We can all be part of this story. Whether it’s a large gift or a small one, every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can build something extraordinary—a hospital that will serve us, our neighbors, and our children for years to come.”
The McKenzie Health System Foundation is deeply grateful to Steve and Lisa Disser for their leadership and vision. Their contribution goes beyond naming rights; it inspires others to give and reinforces the critical role of community in achieving ambitious goals. Having a high-quality healthcare system in our region is a treasure, and this campaign ensures it will remain strong for decades to come.
