McKenzie Health System proudly announces it has achieved Stroke Ready recertification through Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for the services of emergency stroke care. ACHC is a nonprofit organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986.

Certification is a process through which healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Certification by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

“This certification underscores our dedication to addressing strokes and meeting the needs of the community,” stated Steve Barnett, President and CEO of McKenzie Health System. “We feel privileged to be recognized for this significant accomplishment, highlighting our commitment to delivering exceptional care to our patients. I want to express gratitude for the outstanding dedication and hard work of our Laboratory, Radiology, Patient Access Services, Emergency Medical Services, and Emergency Department. Special acknowledgment goes to Mark Hamed, MD, MBA, MPH, Medical Director of the Emergency Department; Lacey Shea, RN, Stroke Program Manager & ED Manager; Rebecca Stoliker, RN, Director of Nursing; our stroke robot team at Ascension Michigan; and the entire staff at McKenzie Health System. Our successes are a collective effort, never the outcome of individual efforts.”

McKenzie Health System stands as a reliable provider of swift and expert emergency and trauma care, catering to the needs of Sanilac County and the neighboring communities.
