Who Can Benefit from Cardiac Rehabilitation?

Cardiac rehab is designed specifically to strengthen the heart. This usually occurs after a diagnosed condition or event that results in cardiac weakness. This type of rehabilitation may include a comprehensive collection of medical treatment and/or lifestyle change recommendations by your cardiologist. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Exercise counseling
  • Strength training
  • Dietary education
  • Weight control
  • Stress management
  • Pain management
  • Medication/pharmacy education

While there are many different cardiac conditions that could benefit from rehabilitative services, the most common cases we see at McKenzie Health System include:

  • Angina
  • Heart attack
  • Congestive heart failure

Tips for Spotting a Heart Attack
