McKenzie Health System has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for patients in rural communities.

As part of the 2025 Get With The Guidelines® Rural Awards, McKenzie Health System received the CAD – Rural STEMI Silver award and the Stroke – Rural Silver award.

These recognitions highlight McKenzie’s ongoing efforts to improve outcomes for patients experiencing heart attacks and strokes by following nationally recognized, research-based clinical guidelines.

“Providing high-quality emergency and cardiac care close to home is critical in rural communities,” said Lacey Shea, Emergency Department Manager and Stroke and STEMI Program Manager at McKenzie. “These awards reflect the dedication of our emergency, nursing, diagnostic, and clinical teams who work together every day to ensure patients receive timely, evidence-based care.”

The Get With The Guidelines® program helps hospitals apply the latest scientific evidence to clinical practice, reduce variation in care, and continuously improve quality and outcomes. Participation also provides access to clear performance metrics and national benchmarking.

McKenzie Health System’s recognition underscores its commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and excellence in rural healthcare.
