McKenzie Health System and Sanilac Medical Care Facility Encourage Community to Give the Gift of Life at January 7 Blood Drive

McKenzie Health System and Sanilac Medical Care Facility invite local residents to start the new year with purpose by donating blood at the upcoming American Red Cross blood drive, taking place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky.

Blood donations remain critically important throughout the winter months, when seasonal illness and unpredictable weather can impact supply levels. Through this continued partnership, McKenzie Health System and the Sanilac Medical Care Facility encourage the community to “roll up a sleeve” and help ensure lifesaving blood products are available when and where they’re needed most.

“Our community has always stepped up when there’s a need—and the need for blood donations is constant,” said Nina Barnett, McKenzie Public Relations and Foundation Coordinator. “Giving blood is one of the easiest ways to truly make a difference in someone’s life, and we are grateful to everyone who is able to donate.”

To support a comfortable and efficient donation process, appointments are required. Community members can schedule a time by calling 810-648-6127 or by visiting www.redcrossblood.org/give and search by zip code 48471.

Every donation helps. Every drop counts. Join us in giving hope, strengthening families, and saving lives as we begin 2026 together.
