The McKenzie Auxiliary “Eat, Drink, & Be Ugly” ugly sweater event turned out to be a beautiful party which took place on November 10 at Bench Warmers Bar and Grill in Sandusky. The silent auction of fall and holiday décor, which featured more than 56 unique and festive items, raised funds to support the purchase of IV pumps and poles, equipment commonly used in EMS, the emergency room, inpatient rooms, and surgical services.

“We are so grateful to our wonderful sponsors, the many donors to the silent auction, everyone who bid on items, attendees and their ugly sweaters, and Bench Warmers Bar and Grill for hosting this amazing event,” said Emma Navarro, Holiday Event Committee Chair. “It was a great time for a great cause and the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!”

The “Eat, Drink, & Be Ugly” party event sponsor was ACT-Advanced Clinical Technology, Inc.; photo booth sponsors included an anonymous donor, Barnett Anesthesia, Jensen Bridge & Supply Company, and Moulton Financial Group; drink sponsors were Agri-Valley Services, Ball Insurance Agency, Bench Warmers Bar and Grill, Clear Ideas, Inc., Eastern Michigan Bank, Meemic Insurance – John Presnell, Sandusky Dental Care, Sanilac County News, Sanilac Smiles Dental Care, Scott Long CPA PLLC, Stoliker’s Custom Design, Thumb Bank & Trust, Thumb Cellular, Tribune-Recorder-Leader, and Western’s Tree Farm; table tent sponsors included Apsey Insurance Agency, Fidelity National Title, and Shaw, Franzel, & Kursinsky.

Attendees enjoyed drinks, appetizers, a silent auction and raffle of holiday and fall décor while raising funds for the IV pumps and poles. The total amount being donated toward the project will be announced in the days ahead.
