McKenzie Health System’s “Healthy Living…Together” Focuses on Teen Vaping and Smoking on June 15

    Nearly one-quarter of Michigan high school students currently use tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, according to 2019 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data. To combat tobacco use and vaping among kids and teens, McKenzie Health System’s next virtual “Healthy Living…Together” seminar on June 15 will welcome Matt Gezequel of the Sanilac County Police Department for a session on “Teen Vaping and Smoking.”

      The live webinar is free, and participants will have the opportunity to watch via Zoom or call in via phone; it will also be recorded and shared via McKenzie Health System’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Speakers will be on video so participants can see and hear them; participants will be able to type interactive questions and comments for the Q&A discussion.

      “We know that there is no safe exposure to smoke or secondhand smoke and are aware that vaping, in particular, is on the rise throughout Michigan,” said Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System and Healthy Living Together Chair. “We are honored to welcome Matt Gezequel of the Sanilac County Police Department for tips on preventing tobacco use among teens.”
