McKenzie Health System and Marlette Regional Hospital Offer DOT Physicals

Does your job require you to have a Department of Transportation physical, also known as a DOT physical? Marlette Regional Hospital and McKenzie Health System, as affiliates of United Healthcare Partners, are pleased to provide DOT physicals in 6 convenient locations to serve you.

A DOT physical is completed by a certified medical examiner and a DOT medical card is good for 2 years. To ensure that your DOT appointment goes smoothly, be sure to take your prescribed medications as usual; wear loose-fitting clothing for your physical exam; and be prepared to give a small urine sample that checks for underlying health conditions. Some employers may also request a urine sample for drug and alcohol screening.

If you have vision or hearing problems, be sure to bring your eyeglasses, contacts or hearing aids with you, as well as a complete list of any medications you are taking. If you have diabetes, be sure to bring your blood sugar logs and recent A1C lab results with you to your appointment. Drivers with heart-related issues should bring a letter from their cardiologist that outlines their medical history and current medications, and indicates that they are safe to work.

DOT physicals are offered in Brown City, Croswell, Peck, Port Sanilac, Marlette and Sandusky. To schedule an appointment in Brown City or Marlette, please call 989-635-1861. To schedule an appointment in Croswell, Peck, Port Sanilac or Sandusky, please call 810-648-6161.
