McKenzie Health System to Host Annual Diabetes Seminar September 11

McKenzie Health System will host its annual Diabetes Seminar, “Getting the Very Best from Your Diabetes Care Management Team,” on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Benchwarmers Restaurant in Sandusky.
Designed for people living with diabetes and their loved ones, the free seminar will focus on practical ways to better understand and manage diabetes with support from a variety of healthcare professionals.
This year’s presentations will cover several areas that can play an important role in diabetes care, including weight loss and GLP-1 medications, physical activity, continuous glucose monitoring, nutrition, and a Medicare program offering flat-rate pricing on GLP-1 medications for seniors.
Presenters will include Trisha Ameel, MSN, RN, FNP-C; Khristine McConnell, DPT; Theresa Lounsberry, RN; Jennifer Brown, RN; and McKenzie Registered Dietitian Kris Kreiner, BS, RD.
“Diabetes management involves many different pieces, and each person’s needs can look a little different,” said Kreiner. “This seminar gives people a chance to hear from members of the care team, learn about available options and resources, and ask questions that are important to them.”
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., with presentations from noon to 2 p.m. The seminar will be held at Benchwarmers Restaurant, 440 Sanilac Road in Sandusky. Lunch is provided courtesy of the Lions Club of Michigan, District 11 D2.
The event is free, but attendance is limited to 50 people. Advance registration is encouraged by visiting McKenzieHealth.org and selecting the event from the calendar. For more information, contact Kris at 810-648-0592.
