Diabetes & Your Feet
For people living with diabetes, routine foot care can play an important role in preventing serious complications. Changes in sensation and circulation can make it more difficult to notice injuries or wounds, allowing small problems to become more serious.
Dr. Als has a particular interest in caring for patients with diabetes and other individuals at increased risk for foot complications. Care may include routine foot evaluations, wound care, patient education, preventive care, and diabetic shoes.
Regular podiatric care can help identify concerns early and provide patients with the information they need to better protect their feet.
