POSITION POSTING:
Title: Physical Therapist
Department: Rehab Services
Status: Full Time (36 – 40 hours/week)
Hours: Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. May require weekend call hours. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:

- Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Program
- Licensed physical therapist in the state of Michigan.
- BLS Certification required within 3 months of hire and recertification as required.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, physicians, and all other support hospital & external personnel
- Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining a hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees.
- Ability to influence the direction of Physical Therapy Services by maintaining a positive perspective/attitude.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence in the delivery of PT services
- Ability to promote and adapt to change in order to keep current with Physical Therapy care duties.
- Ability to apply the principles of quality physical therapy care and prepare patient programs.
- Evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty, and a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of various equipment, including whirlpools, traction equipment, parallel bars, weights, etc.
- Ability to delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
Job summary:
The physical therapist is a licensed Physical Therapist who organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part; assists patients to reach their maximum performance and live within their limitations; Provides for the daily supervision of physical therapy staff in the absence of the Department Director.
