McKenzie Health System Announces Opening of New Thrive Center, Welcomes Gynecologist Dr. Margueritte Kuhn

McKenzie Health System is expanding healthcare options for women and men throughout the region with the opening of the new McKenzie Thrive Center, bringing together women’s health, hormone therapy, healthy aging support and advanced cosmetic services in one convenient location.

As part of the new center, McKenzie is also expanding access to gynecologic care through its affiliation with MyMichigan Health, welcoming Margueritte Kuhn, M.D., a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with 36 years of experience.

The McKenzie Thrive Center was developed to expand access to services that support health and well-being through different stages of adulthood, including care that has often required area residents to travel outside the community.

Services available through the center will include women’s preventive and general care; reproductive and gynecologic care; hormone optimization for women and men; menopause and healthy aging support; and cosmetic services.

Expanded Gynecologic Care Through MyMichigan Affiliation

Through McKenzie Health System’s affiliation with MyMichigan Health, the Thrive Center will welcome Margueritte Kuhn, M.D., a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with 36 years of experience. Dr. Kuhn currently provides care at MyMichigan Gynecology in Midland, and this will expand her geographic by offering service to our community as well.

Dr. Kuhn provides gynecologic care focused on prevention, wellness and long-term health for women of all ages, from adolescence through the menopausal years. Her care includes treatment for concerns such as heavy or painful periods, pelvic pain, abnormal Pap smears and menopause-related concerns.

She also offers a range of in-office gynecologic procedures, including endometrial biopsy, IUD placement and removal, and other treatments. Procedures and surgeries requiring a hospital setting will be performed at McKenzie Hospital, allowing patients to receive a broader continuum of gynecologic care close to home.

Dr. Kuhn earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Her philosophy of care centers on making sure patients feel seen, heard and understood.

“I believe the best care starts with listening,” said Dr. Kuhn. “Understanding each patient’s concerns and working together to find solutions that fit their unique needs and life circumstances is at the heart of what I do.”

A Familiar Face Expands Her Care at McKenzie

Joining Dr. Kuhn at the Thrive Center is Nicole Krosnicki, DNP, FNP-C, a familiar face to many McKenzie patients. A Sanilac County native, Krosnicki has cared for patients at McKenzie for more than a decade and continues to call the county home, where she lives with her children.

At the Thrive Center, Krosnicki will provide gynecologic care, hormone optimization for women and men, and cosmetic services. She will work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans that support overall wellness, address hormonal changes that can impact quality of life, and offer cosmetic treatments that help patients look and feel their best.

Cosmetic services at the Thrive Center will include Xeomin® and Revanesse® Versa™ injectables to smooth wrinkles and restore volume; advanced skin rejuvenation using Morpheus8 RF Microneedling and Lumecca IPL Peak technology to tighten, tone and rejuvenate skin; and DiolazeXL laser hair removal for the face and body.

Krosnicki earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2014, following a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the same university. Prior to joining McKenzie, she worked as a registered nurse at McLaren Lapeer Regional Medical Center.

“Nicole has spent more than a decade caring for people in this community, and that connection makes her a natural fit for this new chapter at McKenzie,” said Baumeister. “Together, Nicole and Dr. Kuhn bring a combination of trusted local care and extensive experience that allows us to offer services our community has been asking for and expand access to care that previously may have required traveling outside the area.”
