Jennifer Long, PT,DPT
- Position: Director of Rehabilitation Services, Physical Therapist
About
Jennifer Long, PT, DPT, serves as both a highly experienced Physical Therapist and the Director of Rehabilitation Services at McKenzie Health System. With a long career in the field, she is passionate about helping patients regain function and improve their quality of life, regardless of their diagnosis.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Adrian College, a Master of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in Chicago, and a Post-Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Since beginning her career in 1996, she has worked in a variety of settings, including five years in an inpatient rehabilitation facility followed by hospital-based outpatient systems.
She joined McKenzie Health System in 2005, where she continues to provide hands-on patient care in addition to leading the rehabilitation team. Her clinical expertise includes pelvic health, vestibular disorders, and orthopedic injuries of the shoulder, knee, and hip, though she enjoys treating patients across a wide range of conditions.
Driven by a deep commitment to rural healthcare, Jennifer believes strongly that individuals in smaller communities deserve access to the same high-quality, specialized care found in larger cities. Her original inspiration to pursue physical therapy came from her interest in healthy living and exercise, coupled with a fascination for how the human body responds to disease, injury, and rehabilitation.
Outside of her professional role, Jennifer enjoys staying active through jogging and golfing. She also loves cooking, traveling, and spending quality time with her family—activities that reflect her passion for healthy living and balance in all aspects of life.
