Make a Smoothie at the July 24 Healthy Lifestyle Workshop!

The 2017 Healthy Lifestyle Workshop series welcomes Karolyn McEntee, Great Start Collaborative-Sanilac, and Nina Barnett,  McKenzie Health System Public Relations, as featured speakers at the July 2017 Healthy Lifestyle Workshop.  They will be presenting a kid friendly program: “Smoothies.”  The workshop will take place on Monday, July 24, at 5:30 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room. Due to the popularity of the workshops and limited space, registrations are required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127 or emailing nbarnett@mckenziehealth.org.

“Both adults and children will love this workshop because they will be creating delicious, healthy smoothies that they can enjoy right on the spot!” explains Barnett.  “Parents and grandparents, as well as the kids in attendance, will learn how to make smoothies, and will also learn about the benefits of a variety of smoothie ingredients, such as flaxseed and chai seed, that make smoothies an excellent source of high quality, tasty nutrition!”

“We’re excited to add this fun, filling and family friendly workshop to our Healthy Lifestyle lineup,” shares Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Human Services at McKenzie Health System, and Healthy Lifestyle Committee Chairperson. “Participants can expect to have a great time making and drinking smoothies; and they will leave with recipes that they can make at home!”   For more information on the workshop, contact Louise Blasius at 810-648-6181; to reserve your spot, contact Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.
