MHS to Host Men’s Health Event with Free Screenings, Food and Fun on August 9

Featuring health screenings, food and refreshments, and the latest equipment from Bennett Powersports and Tri County Equipment, a special Men’s Health Event is taking place on August 9 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Tubbs Brothers, 959 W. Sanilac Road in Sandusky. This FREE event is being hosted by McKenzie Health System, the P.C.U.P.S. (Prostate Cancer Understanding Prevention Screening) Foundation and Tubbs Brothers, to promote prostate cancer awareness in our community. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men in the United States (just behind skin cancer).

Screenings and tests will include PSA (prostate-specific antigen), blood pressure, heart rate/oxygen, BMI, vision tests and more in a special mobile health clinic. The CMU Mobile Health Clinic is a customized 39-foot motor coach built to serve rural Michigan residents by providing access to high-quality health care and preventative health education. The coach offers easy access to a variety of screenings and services for busy men in local communities.

“We encourage all the men in our community to stop by for a screening, conversation and the chance to check out some of the latest items available at Tubbs Brothers, Tri County Equipment and Bennett Powersports,” said CEO and President Steve Barnett. “We believe that regular screenings and ongoing education can make a difference in the lives of men and their families and we look forward to a great event.”

Registration is not required. Questions about the event can be referred to Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127 or nbarnett@mckenziehealth.org.
