brandy fbMcKenzie Health System is pleased to welcome Family Nurse Practitioner, Brandy Trepkowski, to present  “Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention” at the May Lunch and Learn workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from Noon to 1 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room. Lunch and Learn is a community education series held every third Wednesday of the month.  The cost for the workshop is $5, and lunch is included in the price.  Pre-registration is required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.

“One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime,” reports Louise Blasius, Social Worker at McKenzie Health System.  “At this month’s Lunch and Learn workshop Brandy Trepkowski, MSN, FNP-BC, will be raising awareness of breast cancer and highlighting ways to help prevent it.”

“We all have heard the phrase ‘prevention is the best medicine’, but do we really know what that means when it comes to breast cancer?” asks Blasius.  “This workshop will provide valuable, useful information on how we can live in a way that will help to prevent cancer and maintain health, resulting in a more enjoyable and fulfilling life!”

The workshop will be presented in a relaxed, personal atmosphere, and questions will be welcomed.  “In addition,” Blasius reports, “attendees will have a delicious meal.  What a great way to spend a lunch time!”   Because the McKenzie Health System Dining Room has limited seating, pre-registrations are required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.
