In celebration of September as Fruit and Veggies Month, McKenzie Health System is pleased to feature Charlene Biessel, McKenzie Health System Registered Dietician, speaking on “Fruits and Veggies” at the September Healthy Lifestyle Workshop, scheduled for Monday, September 26, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., in the McKenzie Health System Dining Room at 120 N. Delaware St., Sandusky.  Although the workshop is free, due to limited space, pre-registration is required by calling Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.

“Late summer/early fall is the perfect time for delicious fruits like apples and raspberries, and vegetables like pumpkins and squash,” remarks Louise Blasius, LMSW, LPC, Director of Community and Human Services at McKenzie Health System and Healthy Lifestyle Committee Chairperson.  “At September’s Healthy Lifestyle Workshop, Charlene Biessel will be giving audience members ideas on how to use fruits and vegetables to get the most out of their valuable vitamins, minerals and fiber.  A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is a healthy and tasty diet that all members of the family can enjoy!”

“Please join us for this workshop that will provide valuable information in a comfortable, casual atmosphere,” adds Blasius. “In addition to learning great tips on using fruits and vegetables, all attendees will be entered into a drawing for a terrific door prize consisting of a set of 7 storage containers, 3 piece knife set, cutting board, and veggie brush!”

For more information about the workshop, contact Louise Blasius at 810-648-6181; to reserve your spot, contact Nina Barnett at 810-648-6127.
