Bonnie Powell Retires after 21 Years at McKenzie Health System

Bonnie Powell RetirementMcKenzie Health System (MHS) would like to congratulate Ms. Bonnie Powell, RN, on her recent retirement from the hospital after 21 years of employment.  Ms. Powell began her MHS career in 1994, serving in many roles, including Staff Nurse, Certified Diabetes Educator, Director of Nursing, and most recently, Director of Clinical Support Services.

“My mom has always been an amazing role model for me,” shares Rebecca Harris, RN, Powell’s daughter and current MHS employee.  “She never wanted a lot of praise or publicity, but has always been very dedicated to McKenzie.  Now that she’s retired, she hopes to have more time for fishing, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her 24 grandchildren!”

“I have enjoyed working with so many great and caring people for so many years,” added Bonnie. “I will miss them!”

“Bonnie has been such an asset to McKenzie,” states Steve Barnett, DHA, CRNA, MHS President & CEO.  “Her dependability and calm professional attitude was an inspiration to all of us.  She will be sorely missed!”  Powell’s retirement was celebrated in May with a luncheon at the hospital.
