Status: Relief On Call

Hours: Day Shift. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. May require weekend or evening hours. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

  1. High School diploma or Equivalent
  2. 2 to 3 years Healthcare office experience
  3. Familiar with medical billing
  4. Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to establish good working relationships and effective communication with providers, peers, patients, families and other support personnel.
  6. Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining a hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees.
  7. Influences the direction of Hospital performance by maintaining a positive perspective/attitude.
  8. Demonstrates the ability to communicate in speech, writing and reading the English language.
  9. Demonstrates administrative skills essential to the job, Microsoft office suite experience (word, excel, power point) preferred.
  10. Knowledge and ability to learn the safe use of various office equipment.
  11. Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence.
  12. Demonstrates maturity and emotional stability with evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty and positive attitude
  13. Demonstrates knowledge of current trends and changes in health care, medicine and specialty.

Licensure/Certification

Certification as Medical Assistant or Medical office Assistant or equivalent, required within 3 months of hire.
Current BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Job Summary

Reports to the Director of Healthcare Practices. This position is responsible for actively identifying quality requirements from insurance payers, incentive programs and other identified sources and educating the providers, staff and care team. This position is also responsible for working with other disciplines to troubleshoot issues with in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), creating workflow that will allow collection of needed data and entering quality data into databases to ensure compliance. This position is responsible for contacting patients eligible for preventive care and diagnostic services to educate them on opportunities for care as well as assist in scheduling appointments. Monitor and track patients; Assist the Care Team (i.e. provider, medical assistant, nurse, community care coordinator etc.) by coordinating patient care and proactively coordinating healthcare needs. The Quality Care Connector will act as a primary conduit for the transmission of information between providers and patients, and provide advocacy, information, and referral services to patients and families to address their medical needs. Proficient with Electronic Health Record systems.
