Pharmacy Technician Licensed (FT)

Title: Pharmacy Technician Licensed Department: Pharmacy

Status: Full Time: Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or equivalence, required.
  2. Current State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
  3. Experience: 1 year relevant pharmacy experience required, Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  4. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  5. Auditing of records to meet regulations is a key element. Application of regulations to operations to maintain a compliant program is a critical element of this role.
  6. Inquisitive by nature and applies that to work ethic in auditing.
  7. Good communication skills and ability to speak in small groups is required.
  8. Excel; advanced skills to manipulate data and build pivot tables, formulas, v­ lookup, etc.
  9. Demonstrates mastery of all pharmacy prescription adjudication, copay assistance, Point of Sale, ordering, and inventory management as appropriate for job role.
  10. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and use of all software; third party contract pharmacy software, Sentry, Pharma force, CPSI and ECW.
  11. Monitor 340B reports in Sentry and Pharmaforce and adjust as appropriate. Responsible for entry of data from various sources into Sentry and Pharmaforce.
  12. Runs 340B reports in CPSI and ECW. Auditing departmental performance for compliance with the 340B Program. Collaborates with personnel to facilitate the 340B program success and ensure State and Federal regulatory compliance requirements are met.
  13. Participates as a member of the 340B oversight committee and performs duties related to the committee as needed. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the 340B program
  14. Distributes, presents, and audits reports, answers telephone and Vocera promptly and courteously. Other pharmacy related duties; Inventory restocking to Pyxis, ordering, billing, etc.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician Works under the direction of the Pharmacist/Director of Pharmacy; Has frequent contact with nursing units and other departments involved with the administration of pharmaceuticals. Daily contact with other department's staff members; Frequent contact with pharmacist, physicians, and others requesting services of pharmacy. Contact with outside vendors and suppliers.
