Dietitian (ROC)
TITLE: Dietitian DEPARTMENT: Nutritional Services
STATUS: Relief on Call (ROC)
HOURS: Primarily Day Shift. Low Census may be required in response to workload demand.
QUALIFICATIONS/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetic or a related field with R.D. registration required.
- 1-2 years hospital related clinical nutrition experience, preferred.
- Experience providing outpatient services to patients in an office setting, preferred.
- Registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity, preferred.
- Ability to work individually and in a team setting
- Self-directed and has ability to prioritize
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language
- Excellent customer service skills

- Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, physicians and other support personnel.
- Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees as requested.
- Ability to influence the direction of Nutritional Services by maintaining a positive perspective and attitude.

ROLE/POSITION DEFINITION:
The Dietitian plans, directs, and provides for nutritional care to patients, conducts nutrition assessments, provides patient and healthcare staff nutritional education and partners with the Director of Nutritional Services to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nutritional Services Department. Maintains an outpatient clinic schedule to accept referrals from providers to provide dietician services to the patient based on their medical conditions (diabetic education, nutritional needs related to malnutrition, etc.). Desire to build and grow the outpatient clinic offerings. Works with primary care network to develop programs applicable to the needs of the community.
