James Sams, MD, earned his undergraduate degree in Respiratory Therapy at South Plains College in Lubbock, Texas. He held the position of Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at West Texas Hospital, Lubbock, Texas, before he completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the American University of the Caribbean, British West Indies. He completed his Family Practice Residency at Bon Secours Hospital in Gross Pointe, Michigan, where he received the annual Semmes Award for “Outstanding Resident” three times. He has practiced Family Medicine since 1999 in Warren and St. Clair Shores, Michigan, where he treated a wide variety of patients from newborns to complicated geriatric patients.
